Royal Flesh Tattoo is a Chicago-based tattoo parlor. They carry very little flash artwork, preferring to customize designs to the client’s needs. I continued to legacy of blackletter type in the logo, both as a way of refreshing their current brand and ensuring instant recognition in the tattoo community (an industry where, as you can imagine, image is everything).

I commissioned master calligrapher Anne Elser for the custom lettering of the logo and various other elements in the new Royal Flesh brand. A dream to work with, she was able to instantly capture the mix of craft and strength in the characters.
