I once went looking for an illustration rep (seemed like the thing to do at the time), and was repeatedly told “no thank you” (for those of you whom have never looked for one, this is exceedingly common — no hard feelings, everything was done very professionally). One day, I received a package in the mail from one of my “no thank you“s — a portfolio sampler of people to whom they said “yes please.” 30 coasters, representing 30 artists, plus a coaster for the rep’s logo.
Highly amused at the situation, I decided to resubmit my work. Drawn on the backs of their coasters. As of this posting, I have not heard back.
